THINKING FAST AND SLOW

In this Redmond's Review, Darren covers two different levels of thinking.

Thinking Fast and Slow is this review by Darren Redmond in Redmond’s Review!

Here’s a quick test for you:

Molly goes into a store and buys a bat and a ball for a total of $1.10.

The bat is $1 more than the ball.

How much was the ball?

You most likely got it wrong.

The book I will review this week, it is written by Nobel Prize winner in Economics Daniel Kahneman, titled, “Thinking Fast and Slow.”

og: thinking
In this Redmond’s Review, Darren covers thinking on two levels.

It is important to note that this book is scholarly in nature. Meaning it is not written to keep your interest, but rather to bring forth facts about how we process information and think that you will find very interesting.

Level 1, and Level 2 thinking, are the bases of the construct of this book.

They are not what you think. Rather think about the synergy, between presumption and inference chunking when it comes to causality, and analytical probing and data mining for answers. How we sometimes rely too much on one or the other. Without the proper balance two modes of “thinking”, we may find ourselves often coming up with the wrong answer. Even when giving the fact that we have come up with the right answer, we may find ourselves more attached to the wrong answer then actually giving credence to the right one.

So here is the question again.

Here’s a quick test for you.

Molly goes into a store and buys a bat and a ball for a total of $1.10.

The bat is $1 more than the ball

How much was the ball?

You most likely got it wrong.

It’s the way we think and make plausible assumptions.

Nothing is wrong with it in general it is just the way we think.

Read this book if you find the process of thought interesting.

PARENTS – READ BEFORE ENTERING

REDMOND'S REVIEWS are provided frequently at Universal Digest.

PARENTS WITH PERSONAL GUIDANCE

Parents are noticing child warning signs at restaurants. I want to start out by conveying to you that I agree with these two points: First, hearing and seeing a child running willy-nilly around a restaurant can be a bit of a distraction. Second, a screaming kid running up and down an aisle during a flight can hinder one’s attempt at a nap.

OK, now that we have that out of the way, I ask you is your “annoyance” at these situations involving children. Is it any different than when you hear an adult screaming for a waiter or waitress numerous times. Or, when the person next to you on a flight is taking off their shoes and socks and then proceeds to give themselves a foot massage?

PUBLIC BUSINESS SIGNAGE

I bring up the above points for a reason. Recently, I have noticed more and more signs in local restaurants both on the east coast and west coast, warning parents that their children are “on notice” and better behave or else. Where are we going as a culture, when people would find this some how acceptable.

Now, I am a pure Free Market person, so I would be against any governmental regulation not allowing such signs. But, my question really is this, why would people want to associate with a place that appears to look at our children as the enemy?

This opinion may not be popular, but I feel it needs to be put forth. Why are we putting our children on notice? What ever happened to a quiet respectful, one on one with a parent who may be allowing their child to run a muck, that would ask the parent to please rectify the situation? What is next? Signs warning that those who may eat loudly not to come in, or even worse? You get the picture. The slippery slope is indeed starting to get wet. Why would any one find it okay to warn paying customers “that thus and so” will not be tolerated or else?

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND SIGNAGE

I worked in the restaurant and night club industry for well over ten years, and NEVER in those ten years saw such a sign in place where I worked. If children on a case by case basis got out of hand, than on a case by case basis we spoke to the parents with dignity and tact.

og: parents
These are some examples of child warning signs at public businesses.

On the east coast this past Summer, I saw signs such as the one I referenced and just shook my head, Out on the West Coast I have seen similar signs as well. Where are we going as a culture where when a family walks into a place of business, they immediately are put ‘under watch’. Would you, who are reading this posting, feel comfortable if the word ‘child’ was replaced with some other word that describes a certain type of person? My guess is you would not, but somehow we think it is okay to “stop and warn” families before they walk into a business.

PARENTS AND CHILDREN ON GOOD AND BAD BEHAVIOR

For the record I have seen 6 year old children behave quite well in places that people 5 times that age have not. If we keep this up, unless a family doesn’t mind a spotlight on them as they walk into a place, what choices will the family have? With no real choices, I guess a family can now be forced to eat at a fast food place. So, now the same people that seem to judge their children’s POTENTIAL behavior, can now judge the parents for going to the only public choice the family may have to feed their children.

Again, I stress, I am a free market believer; the less regulation the better, so let’s do the math shall we? A family of four walks into a restaurant in the Hampton’s. Lets say, they may stay 35 minutes, spend about $80 to a $100 to leave and now that table is available for someone else to use. The other option is this, the one or two people that may complain at being burdened by the threat of loud children, most likely spent less, and stayed longer in the place of business. Thus, net per hour, that place of business made less money, not more.

PUBLIC BUSINESSES THAT GET IT RIGHT

I have seen examples of businesses that have welcomed families and the money they spend. Sandals Resorts seem to have figured out this perfect formula. Yes I agree it may be a bit pricey, but their all inclusive family resorts are a great example of what I mean. A few years ago, we took our family to Turks and Caicos through Sandals, and my children were received as welcomed guests, not a potential noise threat. They wanted my business, earned it, thus received it.

Many other local businesses on both coasts and in our heartland get it right, as well. Children are guests, who have parents who pay money. The child that acts out, is an exception not a rule and the businesses act as such. For myself, as do many parents, I hunt out family friendly or family neutral places, and quite frankly when I can, will pay even more for the knowledge they do not prejudge my kids. I ask you this, how would you like to be pre-judged?

THE HUMAN VIRUS IS AMONG US

Stephen Erdmann is a writer and social media advocate for freedom of speech and values.

Human viruses are becoming better known. Here, Stephen Erdmann delivers his review from his research of David Icke, who is a most controversial writer.

THE HUMAN VIRUS

When the coronavirus revealed itself in early 2020, who would have thought that none other than the world-famous New Age connoisseur and provocateur, David Icke, would also expose a worldwide, major Virus in his book PHANTOM SELF where he also talks about a deadly virus that is much more insidious, vicious and widespread: The Human Virus—-Human Beings.

(PHANTOM SELF, David Icke, David Icke Books, LTD, 185 a High Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight P0332pn, UK, [email protected] UK, 2016, 458 pages, $10.28 -Kindle, $22.00 – Paperback – Barnes and Noble.)

THE REVIEW

Icke’s works are usually very exhaustingly detailed voluminously and part of a vast library of his books going back to the 1980s. Partly based on his realization of facts and on-going reality, his books do this in stages over a period of time But Icke has never withheld his discoveries about what is occurring, speaking about it in book after book: he was quite convinced that mankind has been deliberately blinded by what the Christian Gnostics of the Nag Hammadi (the Essenes) Dead Sea Scrolls called the Demiurge – a self-aware Virus – the Archons – which are as large as the totality of mankind. A lifetime of personal experience, says Icke, confirms this.

The ‘Virus’ that Icke has persisted in explain and exposing as a “Lie” which does not want to be discovered, referred to as The System, The Program, The Matrix, The Hoax, but also as “The Virus,” “so total and all-encompassing that the Lie is perceived as universal truth…the collective human mind has been hijacked, manipulated and structured to download the Lie.” (pp. 6-12)

HUMAN VIRUS AND THE MATRIX

Morpheus exemplified Icke in the movie THE MATRIX when Morpheus said: “ These people are not ready to be unplugged…so involved, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protest it.” We are all suffering from the Stockholm Syndrome, says Icke, and defend our capturers: lawyers, bankers, politicians, Royals, academics—-all are in the grasp of an illusory “Mainstream Everything.”

Icke tells his readers that in order to deal with the underlying reality of quantum, geometric and mathematical “sequences” of waveforms and electrical “information” that has been put into a holographic computer simulation (an energetic sea of information), we must revolutionize our thinking.

Philosopher and mystic Allan Watts said: “The whole genetic and body structure is involved in the reality– decoding process and this includes the receiver-transmitter system known as DNA ( deoxyribonucleic acid) and the central nervous system.”

Scientists, says Icke, elude to our DNA as our waveforms and its electromagnetic-energetic state—-its “information fields.” In the words of Anita Moorjani “the greatest truths…lie deep within us, in the magnificence of our heart, mind and soul.”

THE FORCES OF THE ARCHONS

Icke has many ways of expressing and detailing exactly who the Archons are—-ranging from “an energetic distortion,” “a self-aware ‘computer virus,’” “psychopathic Soulless Ones,” that have no contact with the Heaven No. 1, the Infinite Awareness. The Archons , he says, are our “Phantom Self,” a construct of fear, psychopathic “empathetic-deleted” Law of the Wild as operations of The Program as if we were animals and insects fighting their own species over food and territory.

The face of the Demiurge Virus has grown through the language of “symbols” and the challenging history behind them—the influence they have on our lives.

The planet Saturn has had a particularly critical influence. At one time Saturn dominated the night sky and was called Helios (Greek) and Utc (Sumerian). Many planetary objects such as Mars, Venus, Jupiter were worshipped as gods, and there existed legends of a Biblical type Great Flood involving legends of Atlantis, MU, and Lemuria. Saturn became a vehicle for the Demiurge Virus and the Fake Reality: Satan, The Dark Sun, Black Sun, Star of the Sun, SOL, Ninib, Ty Atum and others. There were legends that eluded to Saturn’s dramatic “orbital” and “location” changes (not to mention planetary happenings of Mars, Venus, and Jupiter).

SATURN’S MYSTERIES

One of Saturn’s “symbol mysteries” is the hexagonal storm at its Northern pole which demonstrates precise synchronization with Saturn’s cycle of radio emissions . The storm can also be seen as a flattened-out cube, and it has been realized as the “black cube Kaaba,” The New Jerusalem, the 64- hexagrams of the Chinese I-Ching and the 64 nucleotides of the human genetic code.

“I have said that the House of Rothschild is a major Archon-Reptilian bloodline that has done so much to expand the Demiurge Virus,” says Icke, “in the fields of finance, government, and wars. The hexagram, a classic symbol of Saturn, is also the very origin of the name ‘Rothschild.’’’

Israel was established in 1947 by a Satan-worshipping Rothschild hoax to cause the conflict and mayhem (divide and rule) that we have seen ever since.” (p. 146)

Through the centuries the Archon-Virus revealed itself through the symbols, legends, codes, and religions of the past: Diablo, Baphomet, Chronos, The Moon, Ishtar, Lucifer, Ouroboros, Saturnine (sardonic), Dionysus, Bacchus, Mithra, Black Sun, Archon Bloodlines, El-ites, and a continuous plethora of names and allusions; for sure, the Archons are the human race.

REJECTING THE ARCHON FEAR

A revolution is in the making of rejecting the Phantom World by using the element of “Love” and raising mankind to a higher vibration of the Infinite Super Consciousness. Getting to that point will take a complete reorganization and rediscovery of history.

“Humanity was, and is, both in the world and end of it,” says Icke, “until awareness is expanded to insight beyond the Matrix.”

SUBCONSCIOUS AND SUPERCONSCIOUS

In this week's REDMOND'S REVIEW, Darren shares his thoughts on CS Lewis's book, "Spirits in Bondage A Cycle of Lyrics."

Subconscious and superconscious planes of mind are the subjects of REDMOND’S REVIEW this week.

SUBCONSCIOUS AND SUPERCONSCIOUS PLANES OF MIND

Written in 2017, “The Subconscious and Superconscious Planes of Mind” authored by William Walker Atkinson is wonderfully referenced by me as a genre that can be confidently titled, “rabbit hole reading”. This label is given by me to books or subject matter that does two things simultaneously. First, time seems not to exist in its normal fashion. Firstly, an hour could feel like 15 minutes when you are one with the books subject matter. Secondly, the book for me at least, led to search engine escapades for follow up and ancillary information.

In the most simplest of ways I could explain it, The book reviews and investigates our conscious and how it tends to operate and perform. Then, it dwells into the always murky but interesting subconscious. The author goes into great detail giving example after example of how our subconscious, to use a Wizard of Oz reference, is the “person behind the curtain.” Both passively and many times not so passively, it is controlling or “convincing” us to act or not act in a certain way. Atkinson then spends time in a logical and scholarly way, raising the question, do we ever really forget anything? Or, do we file it away in a place that is controlled normally by our subconscious?

A NEW LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING?

What I really found interesting was the hypothesis regarding the superconscious. Could it be that a third level of consciousness exists? That it is actually arranged in such a way that much like DNA, we are passed down from our relatives, thoughts or impressions from the past are stored there? An example of this could be a great great grandparent, who walked into a room and had an emotional or deeply inquisitive impression, positively or negatively, that was “branded” (my word) into their Superconscious. Now, you forty or fifty decades later, walk into a similar room and suddenly have a sense of Déjà vu. Could that be the Superconscious at work? This book was what “rabbit hole reading” is all about.
