Taal volcano on the island of Luzon in the Philippines is just one of a number of others that remain active in the region. On January 12, 2020, it erupted, sending smoke and ash over 1 kilometer into the air.

Fortunately, there has been no reports of loss of life in the region or on the island. The residents were quick to set up shelters and protection from the falling ash. But, there may be residual issues for the citizens of nearby islands in the Philippines.

Consequently, there have been numerous earthquakes after the initial eruption. Much of these earthquakes are due to movement of magma near the surface below in the earth’s crust. Some of the effects are felt in the watery areas around the islands.

Without images, here is a list of the other active volcanoes in the Philippines. There are eight en total:

Mayon in Albay is the most active volcano.

Taal in Batangas (Island of Luzon) is the next most active volcano.

Kanlaon in the Negros island.

Busulam in the next in Sorsogon.

Smith in Cayalan.

Hibok-Hibok in Camiguin.

Pinatubo in Zambales (Remember the violent eruption in 1991 that prompted the US Air Force to evacuate).

Musuan in Bukidnon.

SUMMATION

Earth is an active, tectonic, volcanic planet. Rest assured, technology is catching up.

Prognostications from scientists, soothsayers, etc., mean little in the scheme of things.

This world and others is only part of this great scheme.

Perhaps, if more people here could take a little time to research and determine their own futures in earnest and honesty this planet homed with a wondrous collection of humans may make a difference.
