GLENN CROCKER-MUSICIAN WITH A MESSAGE

Glenn Crocker was directed by the Lord to write Christian songs hoping to reach them who could be touched by songs of freedom and hope.

GLENN CROCKER HISTORY

Glenn Crocker hails from a rich musical past. He was born into a Lutheran family who were farmers in central California. They were active in the community and his mother was the musical talent. Glenn knew from age 7 what he wanted to do. He wanted to sing, play the piano and write songs. That was almost 70 years ago and Glenn has now written over 200 songs. Until he retired, he was among other careers a studio musician
He formed his first band at 15 and at 18 he took his talents to Hollywood. Glenn was part of the rock and roll revolution in the 60’s and 70’s and worked with many musicians including Warren Zevon and David Marks of the Beach Boys. He was also exposed to a variety of musical styles including Country, Blues, Funk Jazz and Rock. And, you can hear them all in his music.
Glenn moved to the San Diego area in the early 80’s and founded a music school where he taught the advanced students for 12 years.
In 2005 after a divorce and a bout with cancer (now 16 years cancer free – praise the Lord) Glenn moved to Bend, Oregon. He didn’t know anyone there and after two months he felt alone, lost, and rudderless in the sea of life.

A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD

Then, Glenn, moving to Oregon and leaving behind the troubles of his life in southern California, he found living in a place where he knew no one. So, this writer asked Glenn, in the first Skype interview a number of questions. What follows is exactly how he responded.

Why are you doing this?

“I moved from southern California to central Oregon 16 years ago after a year of going through a divorce and cancer. I didn’t know anyone here and hadn’t played the piano or written a song for over 2 years. After being here for 2 months I felt very alone and lost. I wondered why I made the choice to move here.

One evening I just broke down and asked the Lord: What do you want me to do with the rest of my life? Within 5 minutes I was back on the piano and a new song was emerging. I thought, well, that makes sense. Why am I doing this? Because, the Lord directed me to do it. I sensed He was not done with me, yet.

And, now all these years and 44 songs later, He’s still giving me new music all the time. And, with today’s technology, it’s reaching people all over the world.”

INTERVIEW WITH GLENN AND ED

As, the interview progressed, this writer became so moved to do what could be done to help spread the word to others. Also, helping to elevate the human condition fit perfectly with the purpose Glenn is accomplishing in his music, inspired from our Father.

Glenn Crocker asked the Lord what He wanted him to do with his life. The Answer came within 5 minutes.

Therefore, the interview continued with this next set of questions. Glenn’s responses are represented with little grammatical editing for clarity of understanding.

Who do you hope to reach?

“There are several groups of people I hope to reach. 1) Christians whose faith may be wavering. 2) People who struggle with addiction. 3) Christians who feel they are alone and are fearful of the persecution they are or may be soon facing. 4) As friends share my music with their friends, I hope to help them come to the Lord.”

Do you believe there is a lack of faith?

“There is absolutely is a lack of faith today. Church attendance just went under 50% for the first time in this country. Just look at our society and compare it with Rome in Chapter 1 of Paul’s letter to the Romans. We have sunk to the lows that you read about, there.”

Do you see Christianity under attack?

“YES! There are many forms of persecution. I’m in contact with people in other countries where Christians lives are at risk. In one country, because of the pandemic, people are suffering because of the lack of food, water, and medicine. The people who practiced the predominate religion of the country were given help. But, the Christians were not. This is one form of persecution.

Here, in this country, Christian faith itself is under attack. In some countries just being a Christian can get you killed.

In this country, there’s censorship in the media and social networks. You have to be careful what you say because the cancel culture is real. If they don’t like what you’re saying they just cancel/block you.”

GOD HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM SCHOOLS

To continue, “God is being taken out of schools and government, so, our children aren’t learning that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. My songs, ‘Don’t Let Freedom Down’ and ‘Walking In His Light’ both address this and tell Christians it’s time to stand up and be counted. The silent majority need to un-silence themselves, band together and say, ‘Enough is enough’.”

This writer will add more songs to the article, as they manifest. Thank you for an eternal friendship, Glenn. Thank you most of all, Jesus Christ.

DON’T LET FREEDOM DOWN

The bass-guitarist, Joe Plass (from Kenny G) plays along with Glenn:

“Let’s work together to get people elected to all levels of government who share our same views and values. Violence is not the answer.”

AS THE INTERVIEW CONCLUDES

This author has been blessed, humbled, and honored to be an infinitesimally small part of such a hugely important and eternal part of life, which is our Lord and Jesus. Glenn and I have known each other in social media for a few years now. We both know that nothing happens by accident.

Ultimately, Glenn and this writer knew we were being directed, but we didn’t know when. God did and directed me, as well, to complete the connection.

Please, know that our Lord has plans for each and every one of you, too. All you have to do is ask for Jesus to come into your life. Ask Him, who is our advocate to our Father what is it that we need do and it will be revealed.

Glenn plans to write 2 songs per month. He wants everyone who wishes to share his work to spread the word about our Lord and Jesus Christ.

SUMMATION AND BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE

In all honesty, this writer started the article with the first sentence. Where would the next sentence come? Looked at it for two days. After asking the Lord to help make this right for Glenn, Christians and mankind who seek Him, this all happened in just 3 hours.

Humbling, it is to know Glenn Crocker is a friend for eternity.

Take notice and please heed the content of this article. Bible prophesy is real. Jesus of Nazareth was born on earth and He became the Son of Man. Mary and Joseph of Nazareth made it through the storm of a time where the concept of a virgin birth was not understood or considered possible. Jesus is returning, as He promised.

The time is coming. Nothing happens by accident. We are standing up to warn everyone of what is about to transpire. It is all part of elevating the human condition. This is not part of some conspiracy or cultish situation; it is part of the Truth.

Thank you all for viewing and reading. God Bless each and every one of you.

FEAR IS HUMAN, SO IS BRAVERY

Darren Redmond is a contributing author with Universal Digest. His book reviews and spiritual insights are becoming well known.

Fear is human. So is bravery and grace.

On this Sunday and every day, let us remember, doubt and it’s sibling fear, can actually bring us closer in faith. Do not let this pair overtake you in the time of Shelter in Place.

If you are scared now or uneasy, that is perfectly normal. It does not mean you have a lapse in faith.

og: fear
Fear is Human. So is Bravery and Grace.

For even Christ asked, “Why have you forsaken me?”

Remember in fear, Peter denied Christ, and was still chosen to build his church. Paul was a tax collector and worse. Paul went blind and was frightened. But, he then went on to write much in the New Testament.

Never let what others would size upon as failures or short comings or moments of fear, pull you away from the understanding created by God’s love and with purpose. We are not and never will be perfect. We were not made to be so.

Shelter in place? Isn’t that what was asked during Passover as we learned in the Torah, or Torat Moshe?

In the Quran it is written, “The reward of goodness is nothing but goodness. (Al Quran 55:61)”. Does it mention we won’t at times be fearful?

Fear and uneasiness are part of being human.

But even more so is Faith, Bravery and Grace.

HUMILITY, SERVICE AND GOD

In this week's REDMOND'S REVIEW, Darren shares his thoughts on CS Lewis's book, "Spirits in Bondage A Cycle of Lyrics."

Humility and Service

‘Humility’ is the book I review and it was written in 1895. It deals with just one subject, and oh, how that subject can be misinterpreted. It is twisted by those looking to manipulate you. Humility is called a weakness. It is just ignored.
This book was written by Andrew Murray and it is titled, Humility. Consciously, or otherwise, the personal relationship we have with Christ, as author Andrew Murray goes into great detail about, requires humility on our part. It enables us to be able to get close and focused in our relationship with God.
The word ‘humility’, has had many connotations and meanings throughout the ages. It is 180 degrees away from the word ‘pride’ which is often as well, used in many different forms, from many different meanings. From reading this work by Andrew Murray, I can simply define PRIDE to actually be fear, and HUMILITY to be confidence.

Pride and Fear

Pride  often times is fear masked as confidence. Humility is the complete opposite, it is a perfect trust that God loves us and wants the best for us. We cannot maximize ourselves, unless we know that we are here, but for the grace of God.
I am paraphrasing of course, we are reminded throughout this work, that it is only when we get quiet, non boastful, and non self-absorbed, that the real work of humility begins. Why boast and brag when you are  using nothing more than the talents that God has given you?
Humility is a quiet confidence because you are aware that you are loved by God. All that you have and that you will have, come from our creator. A understanding of that fills a person with a humble peace.
Remember, our savior chose to live a life of servitude, humble in nature and doing so with confidence, and no need for those around him to approve of his path in life.
For with humble kindness toward all and to our selves, the greatest of all, should be the one who serves the most.
This book is free to read in the public domain.

SPIRITS OF BONDAGE A CYCLE OF LYRICS

In this week's REDMOND'S REVIEW, Darren shares his thoughts on CS Lewis's book, "Spirits in Bondage A Cycle of Lyrics."

Spirits of bondage is a subject of importance to Darren. He states, “I know it’s short but it is thoughtful and to the point.” So, here is this week’s book review from REDMOND’S REVIEWS.

SPIRITS OF BONDAGE A CYCLE OF LYRICS

For my next book I have selected to read and review, I have chosen the first book ever published by CS Lewis. It is titled, “Spirits in Bondage a Cycle of Lyrics.” This book written in 1919, was written under a Noms de plume of Clive Hamiktin. Which, derived from CS Lewis, it was his first name and his mother’s maiden name.

This is a book is not a book of prose but rather poetry. Each poem builds upon the subject matter of the previous one and is broken down into three different sections.

It may be important to note that this book was written partially at least, during CS Lewis’s time fighting in the trenches of World War 1. Additionally, this is also come a time before CS Lewis was a Christian. His subject matter and his approach to life in his writings is indicative of this.

The reader can see a slow movement toward Christianity throughout his writings even though he talks of Druids and fairies that exist in the forest.

This book often leans toward the darker or foreboding world rather than one that is optimistic in God’s grace.
